Just been thinkin'...

I'm lying here, sick as a dog, studying for tomorrow's exam and watching Christmas episodes of HTF when a thought struck me.

When a person doesn't like a fandom, why are they drawn to shitting on it?

I mean, the Twilight hatedom kind of shows that.  Part of it is literary analysis, but a lot of it is making fun of something we hate.  I saw an anti-HTF stamp that was hsoddily made; the creator said it didn't deserve anything that looked nice, then went on to list the reasons why she hated it.  Barney-hate songs have been sung since kindergarten.

Why can't we all just leave stuff we hate alone?  I hate High School Musical, but do you see me ranting about all the reasons it sucks and that no one should watch it?  No.  I just leave it alone and focus on stuff I like.  It just seems like too much energy to obssesively hate something.

It's like eating spaghetti when you prefer mac & cheese.  Don't like it, don't eat it; simple as that.  Don't sit there and whine about how disgusting it tastes while you force-feed yourself to the point of vomiting.

...that's about all I thought about this topic.  ^^;

~Thinking about Stuff

Kittens and Exams

It's that time of year again.  Exam time.  And only two of my exams were early ones, so I'm stuck here until the 15th.  Ugh...so much studying to do, my brain's going to explode.  :(

And this also means more time away from my new kitten, Cuddles.  As of the time of writing this journal entry, she's twelve weeks old.  She's is very fat and fluffy, and she is the damn sweetest (healthy) kitten I've ever known.  As soon as she saw me, she was purring and rubbing against me.  As soon as I sat down, she was in my lap.  <3

And I miss my baby right now.  Yeah, she was just added to the family, but she's so adorable and sweet!  She's impossible to hate, unless you're a cold heartless bastard (like the people who abandoned her at the church where my mom found her) or one of my dogs.

...yes, she was named after the rabbit from HTF.  So SHUT UP.  xD  Speaking of HTF, fave characters = Russell, Lifty & Shifty, Toothy, and Handy.  LOL RANDOM STATEMENT.

What an awesome week.

Man, Thanksgiving was so much fun.  My nieces came over for three days.  We played videogames together...but man, it was so hard/awkward explaining Bioshock to my eleven-year-old niece.  ^^;

The pumpkin cheesecake = total awesomeness.  I also made the green bean casserole...but i forgot to drain the green beans before putting them in the pan, so it was more "stew" than "casserole."

Watched the Christmas episodes of HTF quite a bit.  Favorite of the holiday episodes would have to be Easy For You to Sleigh.  Because its a Lifty & Shifty Christmas.  With carnage caused by Flippy.  Epic win all around.  That said, my favorite normal episode would have to be Something Fishy.  Or Wishy Washy.  Or Autopsy Turvy.  Or I Nub You.  Not sure.  One of those four.

Speaking of, I also let my oldest niece play False Alarm.  Thought she was old enough to handle it.  She wasn't.  ^^;

Anyway, back to the grind for the next three weeks.  :-/

Thanksgiving's Nearly Here!

My back is killing me, and I can't wait to get home and put heat on it.  :)

Also can't wait to see my critters.  Hubert, my cat, misses me.  :(  My roomie said that, if we were to ever get an apartment, she'd let me move him in with us.  ^^

I found two recipies I want to try SO BADLY for our Thanksgiving feast this year.  One is pumpkin cheesecake.  The other are these chocolate cracker...things...that look soooo good. 

Even better, the only homework that I absolutely MUST do is a take-home final.  So I won't be too busy with schoolwork this week.  Plenty of time for other stuff...like walking the dog.  :)

...and it's official.  I love Happy Tree Friends and consider it my favorite show.

So I'm catching the autumn cold.  I'm sick and trying to study, and I need background noise.  And I decide to watch about seven random episodes of Happy Tree Friends in a row.  You know, the show that is basically Coyote vs Roadrunner meets Saw. 

And...I loved it and thought it was the most adorable show I'd ever seen.  Even when the heads start popping off like brastraps, I went "daaaaw."

I mean, look at him!   Russell's so kawaii desu ADORABLLLLE!

I do believe I must be troubled.  O____O

SO ANYWAY.  I want a Russell plushie.  I mean...he's an OTTER.  And a PIRATE.  And he's SEA-GREEN.  And he says "YAR."  He's (so far, seeing as how I've only watched a few episodes) totally my favorite character...followed by Flaky and Flippy, the fan-favorites.  If only because Flippy makes me want to write a characterization analysis on him, and Flaky reminds me of...me.  Extremely paranoid and cowardly.  :P

About the show itself.  The little throwaway gags made me lol the most.  Like...Flippy has just cut Toothy's face like a slice of cake.  He then gives Cuddles this deranged smile...and serves him the slice.  Just so calmy, out of nowhere.  I lol'd SO HARD.

Of course, they do know how to fall back on non-gore jokes.  Like the peanut thing, Lumpy bats a peanut out of Mime's hands.  Mime then pantomimes weeping.  That made me giggle quite a bit.

But what got me sold on the show was when Flippy used a razor blade attatched to a windshield wiper to slice Flaky's face off.  I don't know why.

...I'm a terrible, horrible person, aren't I?  I talk about 3-2-1 Penguins last time, I ramble about Happy Tree Friends today.  xD

...ever since some people were cheating yesterday in Humans vs Zombies (ie, bringing in non-player scouts to flush out the zombies and ruin our ambush...and actually, they broke TWO rules, cuz said non-players were using illegal swords), the Cheating Song from 3-2-1 Penguins has been in my head.  It's so sad, though, that I still remember that song.  It's been ten years since I last watched that tape, and I still remember it (almost) perfectly.

But now I wanna dig out the old tape and watch it again.  That show was frikkin AWESOME.  It was fueled by RULE OF AWESOME.  It's aliens were creative.  I mena...SENTINENT VACUUM CLEANERS.  TIC-TAC-TOE PLAYING FRILLED LIZARDS.  TWITTERING AND CHIRPING LIGHTBULBS.  THAT PINK THING.  FUTS YEAH.

Anyway.  Hooray.  I almost died today (not IRL, in , but a friend sacrificed her life so that I could survive at least two more days.  Fat lot of good that'll do, seeing as how half of the zombies starved to death over the weekend cuz no one would share their meals.  -_-

Yeeeeah...I've had some issues with the players (and the running, my heart wants to explode when I run), so I ain't playing next year.  HOWEVER...I do want to be a student mod.  You don't get to play, per se, but you do get to make up missions and call out unsportsmanslike behavior.  ^^
